Mobile gambling on smartphones and tablets is taking off around the world as devices grow in popularity, drop in price and become more powerful.
A UK mobile commerce analysis firm, Juniper Research, has said that the deregulation of online gambling in the US and Europe and the development of the Chinese market will result in annual wagers on mobile gambling platforms to over $100 billion in 2017.
The most rapid growth is expected to come from casino games: roulette, blackjack, poker and virtual slot games.
The Chief Executive of Aristocrat, Jamie Odell, says that consumers are demanding more and more mobile games and Aristocrat is working hard to keep up with the demand by developing new games and modifying its existing ones for mobile platforms.
Aristocrat is also spending a lot of time on mobile strategy, evaluating how the technology can be used both inside and outside casinos and in social media. It is also looking to ways to help casino owners improve business.
Last year Aristocrat bought Product Madness, one of Facebook’s top slot games operators. It has since launched its offering of online casino games, called nLive, in North America, as it prepares for more states to legalise online gaming.
